What is the High School and Beyond Plan?

SchooLinks Logo

The High School and Beyond Plan (HSBP) is a state graduation requirement designed to support student career and college exploration throughout middle and high school. The HSBP helps connect career interests with their classes, and their classes with career training or college majors.  This will be helping them identify the steps needed to reach their postsecondary goals. Students start the plan in 7th grade by taking a career and interest/skill inventory. HSBPs are revised each year (7th-12th grade) to align with changing interests and educational or career goals.

Using SchooLinks, students and families can:

  • Access career interest, strength and mindset surveys
  • Explore 2-year and 4-year colleges
  • Take virtual college campus tours
  • Search for scholarships and learn about financial aid
  • Find internship and volunteer opportunities
  • Explore military career fields
  • Create digital portfolios/resumes

The High School and Beyond Plan is really a way for students to explore who they are, who they want to become, and how they can get there.  The intent is to empower all students to prepare for and achieve their career and college dreams.

This program is a statewide program so if they transfer within Washington State it will follow them to their future school.  Below you will find the links to the information you need to jump on and start your journey.

Students reach their plan by going to Clever and then towards the bottom of the page is a yellow school links symbol. If they favorite the Icon, it will appear at the top of clever for easy access.
